It was the best of times. That’s it. Being an arborist is awesome! As we come to the end of our 13th year here in Brandon – we wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to you all – for your continued support and for recommending us to your friends and family. We get to work outside, use chainsaws, swing through the air with the greatest of ease – and most of all, look cool all day! 2025 brought new equipment, new and returning crew members and some serious accolades!!
This year, Bee EZ Tree Service was chosen as a Finalist for Small Business Excellence, through the Brandon Chamber of Commerce. Reta and Chris stayed up past their bedtime, got gussied up and rubbed elbows at the Annual Gala! Our dear friend Ashleigh and her crew at Create Marketing took the well earned prize! It truly was an honour to be nominated!

Community Votes 2025 – We are delighted to have received PLATINUM for the fifth year in a row!! This is directly related to our amazing customers who vote for us year after year! Thank you all so much!

As a company, Bee EZ has always endeavoured to occupy the ‘sweet spot’ – equipment that is properly sized for the majority of the jobs we do, without unnecessary overkill or unused capacity. We are excited to share some new additions to our fleet/equipment!
NEW CHIPPER!! We have had a Vermeer BC1000 Branch Chipper since day one – 12″ capacity and widely considered an industry standard. There was someone with a BC1500 (15″ capacity) BUT now, we have a BC1800 XLT – which has a 19.2″ capacity! This has allowed us to do away with disposal fees on Elm Logs! Historically, we have had to dispose of the logs at the Brandon City dump, as per the regulations that help control the spread of Dutch Elm Disease. Once logs are chipped, they are no longer appealing habitat for the beetles, and (In our opinion) are better used for mulching, compost etc. The crew has reported that the winch on the BC1800 has really made a huge difference!
NEW DUMPTRUCKS!! We have added two Ford 550 dump trucks to the fleet – nimble, with a short wheel base – these trucks are ideal for sharing residential streets with other motorists!
Crew Updates
- Dennis spent the winter studying up and returned to the front line a certified arborist! We are very proud of him! Dennis and his lovely wife had five kids at home last winter – making his commitment to finding a quiet spot to study all the more admirable! Congratulations, Dennis!

- Collette joined our crew to answer the phone and work in the office with Reta, but after seeing the fun the crew was having in the field, asked if she could go out and work with them. We believe in cross training and said “Sure!” She decided to enrol in the MB Arborist course at the University of Manitoba (over the winter) Expect to see her at a job site near you! (And if you know anyone who wants to answer phones, send them our way!)

- Reta attended the ISA conference – Prairie Chapter – in Regina this fall. It was incredibly inspiring to connect with folks who are doing research and leading the way to a bright future in arboriculture! (We are on the front line of climate change – the experts are coming up with new tree varietals and methods of planting that will ensure a bright, green future) It would have been the best time ever if her wallet had not been stolen out of the rental car. Sad face, indeed. She also came back from a debilitating knee injury last fall and has swam over 300 times this year. In fact, in distance, she has nearly swam all the way to Winnipeg!
- Chris S completed the Train the Trainer – Chainsaw course with Arborculture Canada. He is now certified to teach you how to use a chainsaw, test you for knowledge and skill AND THEN, issue a certificate. We are very excited to be able to add this benefit for our crew members. Additionally, Chris may be teaching in our community – keep your eyes peeled for announcements!

- Chris C is pursuing his ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certification! His true love is the jungle – fun fact – did you know he has done field work in entomology, focusing on butterfly migration.

- Brian B. has shown up on a couple job sites this summer – sharing his experience and knowledge freely! He continues to volunteer in the community as well as hunt and fish. Despite our encouragement that he enjoy his retirement – he wants to swing a chainsaw and who can blame him!
- Jase W. is such a great crew member – we are always happy to see him in the spring and sad to see him head off in August. He spends his winters playing hockey! He will be back in March!!
- Dylan C did a cameo appearance this summer, climbing trees and doing summer courses! It really was something to have him back! We wish him and his partner Nicole all the best in their next adventure!
